"NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP"

There is so much shit out there telling you to give up.

There are so many people out there who will argue that to follow your passion is to live unrealistically in this world.

That you should be smart and earn your way sensibly.

To them i say "O captain my captain"

To them I say no.

This world needs those who believe in art, who believe in artists who believe in it all.

Who look at what is beautiful and what is wrong and what is fucked up and what is wonderful and say yes to it all.

Who say i will make something from this

Who say i will make something for this

I will make you feel something

I will show you a way through.

I will change the world

I will tell my story

I will tell your story

I will fucking shine. I will fucking shine.

You have a story to tell

You have a story to tell.

You must you must you must.

Do not let them convince you you cannot be here.

Find a way to pay your bills

Find a way to survive.

And tell your story.

Tell our story.

The story of being a human being.

You must you must you must

Sing your fucking song.

Because we will be dead soon.

All of us.

We will all be dead soon.

Scream into the terrible. Scream scream scream.

You will be dead soon.

The time to scream is now.

Never give up. Never give up. Never give up.

O captain my captain.

The answer to most of the shit is to sing your song.

If people will not pay your for it, find a way to sing your song.

If you are at war with yourself, find a way to sing your song.

Netflix, Ai, the internet, social media, tv, movies, books, adverts, leads, coleads, supporting artists, oscars, conventions, success, credits, cvs. We had to make a living. But they wont mean anything at the end.

It was about the howl. The scream.

The caged burn inside that rattles and rattles,

"Rahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh'

And then it stops.

And you are there

At the end

looking back - i did it.

Nothing else matters

I screamed and screamed and screamed.

O captain my captain.

Do not let them convince you.

Do not let them convince you.

Scream your scream

please.

the world needs it right now.

Reader Wins

  • Huge congratulations to reader Grace who recently directed her first show. And to all who were in it or worked on it. I wish I could have been there - i loved the trailer -
    so much life.

  • Last year, reader Tom N went up for a job that required some very specific skills that he had - he has now heard back and it is good news. Not easy to wait that long - well well done mate.
  • This week I got to see reader Theo B smash his stand up debut. It was incredibly moving and inspiring. Not only has he done something many (read: me) are afraid of doing, he now has 5 mins of his own material that he can use to entertain and move more people, whenever he chooses (considering the amount of open mic nights around), build on it, and (if he wanted) turn it into a show that people will pay to see. Ownership and self determination. Well done buster.

ISA = MORE MONEY

An ISA is a savings account that doesnt get taxed.

If you have a large amount of savings in a normal account - you have to pay tax on any interest it makes (and declare it when you fill in your HMRC tax return).

If your savings are in an ISA you do not.

You are allowed to put in up to Β£20,000 ever year into your ISA.

If you did this for two years in a row at the current rate, by year two you will have made approx Β£2,700 for doing nothing.

In an ISA you keep all of those earnings.

I am very very far off that number, but every little counts, especially when its easy to set up.

To start now here are the ISAs with the best interest rates from friend to the common man Martin Lewis.

If you haven't already, sign up to Martin's great newsletter to receive the latest money tips.

Open an account. Put in what you can. Add to it when you can. If it's anything like mine it may not look like much now. But we're playing a long game (e.g. 20+ years). Go easy on yourself and make it a tax free one.
