When I wake up at 3am worrying about where Iβm at in my acting and i'm thinking about stuff like:
the fact I haven't booked something in months
or my peers getting jobs when I have barely had a self tape
or more genrally feeling like my time is running out.
I often think about the following:
I am 36.
I have been acting professionally for about 18 years.
I respect and admire Anthony Hopkins, heβs still having a great time at 88.
All things going well, I have 52 years left of being an actor.
I have 74% of my βcareerβ in front of me.
When I think about this, that little voice of anxiety settles and refocuses.
I go from thinking I have run out of time, to having lots of it.
Like realising it's Saturday when you thought it was a Sunday.
You get your weekend back.
You get your time back.
Then it becomes about what shall you do with the time you have now.
β
Almost nobody wants to hear the real answer to the question of how to spend more of your finite time doing things that
matter to you⦠The answer is: you just do them.

Here's how to figure out yours:
THE HOW-MUCH-TIME-DO-I-HAVE-LEFT EQUATION
β
= ( Years Left Γ· ( Years Left + Years Done ) ) Γ 100
β
Years Left = (antony hopkins - your current age)
Years Done = (your age - age you started)
β
My Maths
Years Left = (88 β 36) = 52
Years Done = (36 β 18 )= 18
( 52 Γ· ( 52 + 18 ) ) Γ 100 = 74%
Now go do the fkn thing.

- Reader James has been helping the new kid on the block Performeo take on the probably-illegal fee charging Spotlight. Well done mate for disrupting the shit out of this shit show of an industry. I'm going to his online chat with the guys from Performeo this Wednesday - come join.
- Had a great talk with reader Niall this week. He set up an English speaking comedy club where he lives in Transylvania - the first of itβs kind. If it's not there and you want it, fkn build it. Bold moves mate.
- Any one who writes anything is incredible, the sheer act of making something from nothing is bonkers. reader Matt is currently writing a farce and is aiming for a readthrough in a few weeks. More to follow. Well done Matt.
- And reader Neve has just started her audiobook journey - welcome to the party Neve.

You have more time than you think.
See you next week,

P.s. Do the thing you've been putting off doing because you don't think it will be very good or you don't think you will be very good at doing it. Do that thing.
P.p.s. If you are feeling particularly clicky π
