Happy happy Monday you cheeky monkey

Lets begin

Sometimes my inner critic comes at me hard with

"Look how little progress you've made, you big jerk"

generally, this will be after a string of disappointments.

When this happens, I try to remember to Time Travel:

About 17 years ago, I was sitting in my bathroom, on top of my toilet, holding a freshly opened letter from that year's final attempt at getting into drama school. "We regret to inform you..."

It felt like there was a brick wall in front of me and those on the other side were telling me I was unfit, unable and unsuitable - there's no place for you here.

It felt like I had no hope of working as an actor.

It felt like to even get a seat in the arena was an impossible dream.

I look back at that moment and it reminds me how far i've come.

โ€œNo one enjoys being wrong, but I do enjoy having been wrong, because it means I am now less wrong than I was before.โ€

1 question for you

I.

It's tempting sometimes to feel like we have made no progress at all, especially when dealing with the brick wall of this industry, but when we go back further in time, we can see that this is, simply, not true.

Maybe it's progress in your acting or maybe it's to do with your relationships, or maybe it's something spiritual and internal

but the mistakes you have made on your journey, mean you are far less wrong today than you were when you first started out.

What progress do you see when you look back on where you have come from?

See you next week,

A x

p.s. That was mine, i'd love to hear your progress story. Just reply to the email with it. ๐Ÿšฝ
